INTRO

This is the fourth year of the A.I.G.S. we have a database of over 100 members joining in the competitive but friendly fun.  

CONCEPT

There will be a different venue each month in the summer. We play 18 holes on the a Friday afternoon once a month (it is impossible to get tee times on the weekends). During the round there are various other competitions,

• Ladies, 3 places

• The longest drive

• Nearest the pin

• Best gross score

• Member of the Year (Mens)

• Member of the Year (Ladies)

AIMS

We started out as a small group of golf friends, who, after playing the same crappy course week in week out, thought it would be a good idea to play a different course every month. Then we thought why not invite a few more and we could get a green fee discount as a society. From there it went ballistic, and now we welcome anyone and everyone.  

After a shower, change of clothes and a cool beer, there is a 3-course meal with wine and coffee. After this we have a prize giving ceremony.  

general COSTS

It costs 10 Euro to become a member for the whole year, payable at your first meeting. Each venue's green fee is different, but it is in the region of 60 to 70 Euro, which includes the green fee, the meal and all the prizes

what is a MOY & LOY

We also keep a running score for the “Member of the Year” and “Lady of the Year”. This is an annual trophy given to the person who attended and scored the best i.e. the more you attended the more points, the better result the more points.
